About the Meeting
What happens when we slow down, observe the natural world around us, and put pencil to paper? In this free 90-minute community meeting, we explored the power of nature journaling—a meaningful practice that deepens our connection to the natural world while nurturing well-being, curiosity, and creativity.
Our host, Margaret Golden, welcomed award-winning naturalist, artist, scientist, and educator John Muir Laws of the Wild Wonder Foundation as our special guest. Together, we explored how connecting students to nature can support their physical and mental health, boost academic achievement, and inspire a deeper sense of care for the environment.
This gathering was part of our ongoing series of free monthly community meetings for educators, designed to help education professionals explore the science of well-being and connect with peers around the world who are working to create kinder, happier schools where everyone belongs.
